An Introduction to our core Hedgerow ingredients

The organic ingredients are locally and sustainably sourced from indigenous flora with a history of use in medicinal and wellbeing remedies, providing sustainable treatments, knowledge and support for our guests, team and community.

Lime, Linden Blossom (Tilia spp.)

Native to the British Isles, lime blossom helps relieve stress, tension, and overwork while promoting restful sleep, and has been used for centuries to support mood, ease anxiety, and soothe skin conditions like eczema, rashes, and bruises.

Lemon Balm (Melissa Officinalis)

Native to Europe and brought to the UK by the Romans, Lemon Balm is delicious, refreshing and full of antioxidant Rosmarinic acid, which was highly valued for promoting longevity, improving memory and lifting the spirits.

St John’s Wort (Hypericum Perforatum)

St John’s Wort blooms in midsummer with bright yellow flowers and is traditionally harvested at its peak around St John’s Day. Its oil helps ease nerve pain and supports healing of skin conditions and minor wounds.

Rosemary (Rosmarinus Officinalis)

Native to the Mediterranean, rosemary has been valued since ancient times as a rejuvenating brain tonic. Traditionally used by Greek students to aid study, it remains one of the best herbs for supporting memory today.

Comfrey (Symphytum officinale)

Common in the south of England comfrey’s old name of knit bone refers to strong healing action for broken bones. It will also knot flesh together, speeding the healing of wounds. Applied as a poultice or ointment, it can be used to treat bruises, dislocations and sprains.

Peppermint (Menthe Piparata)

Introduced to the British Isles by the Romans, peppermint has long been valued for supporting digestion and easing nausea, spasms, and gas. Its versatile oil also helps relieve colds and sinus congestion when inhaled, and soothes muscular aches when used topically.

Thyme (Thymus Vulagaris)

Native to the Mediterranean, thyme is a small evergreen shrub with powerful aromatic and antiseptic properties. It is commonly used to ease joint and muscle pain, and to help disinfect cuts and wounds.
